A Winner’s Not A Loser

You got your money, you got your cars.
Bought your place among the stars.
We got problems – you only got solutions.
You take a girl for a night on the town,
dazzle her then let her down
and leave her victimized by an illusion.
It seems you really know your way around
and run through life never looking behind.

  A winner’s not a loser,
but losers rush behind him all of the time.
Full speed in a used car.
  And they keep holding on.

You may think they are fools,
but the losers have nothing to lose.
Maybe they will meet their luck tomorrow.
And what if they will pass you by?
Would you give up or would you try?
There can always be a pill too bitter to swallow.
It seems you really know your way around
and run through life never looking behind.

  A winner’s not a loser,
but losers rush behind him all of the time.
Full speed in a used car.
  And they keep holding on.

Blundered Through The Week

The Sunday morning paper is lying folded by the door.
Broken beams of early sun flash the empty glasses on the floor.
Outside in the distance the city plays its lazy tune.
Trying not to wake my girl I silenty cross the room.
Looking around I see the usual mess.
It screams to be cleared away.
But something tells me this will be a special day.

Blundered through the week I feel all right.
I wonder if my fortune is on the rise.
Blundered through the week I ease my mind.
We’ll run around and dance into the night.

I browse through the headlines, I drink my coffee taking my time,
then take a walk around the block. I want to catch some Sunday shine.
Lookong around I see the usual mess.
It screams to be cleared away.
But somehow it doesn’t bother me today.

Blundered through the week I feel all right.
I wonder if my fortune is on the rise.
Blundered through the week I ease my mind.
We’ll run around and dance into the night.

Keeper

Trying to run away
from all that is evil and dirty.
Trying to run away
from all that is poisoning me.
 Where csan we go?
Who is the keeper of the answer?
 Where can we go?

  Keeper,
give me the key to open the gate!
  Keeper,
I’ve got to leave before it’s too late.
  Keeper,
  lead me out of here!

Would it be easier
if I’d give up what’s left inside?
The misery’s growing around
and shelter’s not easy to find.
 Where can we go?
 Only questions, no answers.
 Where can we go?

  Keeper,
give me the key to open the gate!
  Keeper,
I’ve got to leave before it’s too late.
  Keeper,
give me the key to open the gate!
  Keeper,
  lead me out of here!

The Prophecy

Into the sun
behind the moon
she’s drawing circles
all around you.
Faced to the ground you kiss the sand.
Head in the crowd until the end.

The cream has turned sour.
Bitter taste the wine.
You’re losing the hour
missing every sign.
Faced to the ground you kiss the sand.
Head in the crowd until the end.

What if they’re right and we are wrong?
Is there any hope to change what’s going on?
 Does anybody matter?
 Does anybody really care?

The prophecy’s done.
It’s on the wall.
A matter of time
all kingdoms fall.
Face to the ground. Kiss the sand.
This is the best way to hasten the end.

What if they’re right and we are wrong?
Is there any hope to change what’s going on?
 Does anybody matter?
 Does anybody really care?

Unknown Soldier Of Time

Round and round in the pouring rain
without a place to hide.
He doesn’t care about the future
staying on on the downside.
He’s searching through the passing days
for a reason to get by.
Just a face without a name.
 Another drop in the ocean.

  Unknown soldier of time.
  Unknown soldiers of timeless ways.
  Unknown children of grief.
  Unknown victims of power games.
Tell me your dreams. The darkness surrounds us.
Sometimes I fear we’re all gonna be lost.
  Unknown soldier of time.
  We’re going down.

Grinding away and wasting years
who can see what’s going on.
The past is dead, the future’s dying.
This is what we call freedom.
He’s searching through the passing days
for a reason to get by.
Just a face without a name.
 Another drop in our ocean.

Take Me Back

On my way to another town
I still can hear them call my name.
In their circus I’m the clown.
They buy my joy and leave my pain.
 I don’t know what I’m looking for
 flying higher and higher.
But I can’t give up anymore.
 Everytime I need something new
but I don’t wanna be losing you.

Take me back down to the earth.
I will praise the night when I wake up by your side.
Take me back, away from all the hurt,
  to clear my sight.
And tell me it’s all right.

Hotel room in a foreign town.
Neon lights in the sweet red wine.
I count my steps for I can’t sleep.
My head is full of rhymes and lines.

Midnight Train

I bought a ticket on a midnight train
to try a new horizon.
Everyone around me got over his dreams.
Now I’m ready to find one.
Been in this dump too long.
Time to get out of here.
It’s not about right or wrong
I’m just tired of wasting years.

I bought my ticket on the midnight train.
It’s all that I need now.
  I’ll make it somehow.
Just get away from living life in vain
  forever
  forever I will ride.

Guess I was born to be a restless kind,
to always chase a rainbow.
To be on the move means you travel light
and never pack your sorrow.
Been in this dump too long?
Time to get out of here.
It’s not about right or wrong
if you’re tired of wasting years.

I bought my ticket on the midnight train.
It’s all that I need now.
  I’ll make it somehow.
Just get away from living life in vain
  forever
  forever I will ride.
